2020 Staff Spotlight: Jo

Name:  Jo
Primary Location: Fitchburg & Puppy

Q: When did you start?

A: May of 2019

Q: What made you apply for this this job?

A:  I am obsessed dogs, and I figured what better way to spend my time than surrounded by them.

Q: What is your favorite part of daycare?

A: I love getting to learn the dogs’ personalities. It is super fun to slowly find all their weird quirks!

Q: What is your favorite part of training?

A:   I think it is amazing to see the change in both the dog and owner from the beginning of class to the end. Not only do they learn the class objectives, but their bond and confidence grows so much!

Q: Favorite thing about your team?

A: Our team is full of some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. But what I like even more is how weird we all are and the crazy conversations we have.

Q: Favorite thing about the clients?

A: I don’t think there is a better group of people than our clients. They really are just as much a part of our family as their dogs.

Q: Favorite thing about the dogs?

A: My favorite thing about the dogs is the fact that no two are the same. Each dog brings something unique to the pack.

Q: Something unique about you – not related to the dogs

A:  Something unique about me is that I can say the alphabet backwards. It is not a very helpful skill, but for some reason I thought it was a skill I needed.

Q: Something you’d never guess I’d do/peg me for

A: I have shot bow and arrow since I was young. I don’t hunt, but it is a fun hobby.

Q: Which dog breed are you based on this quiz:

A: A French Bulldog

Q: Which breed did you grow up with?

A: My family had an American Eskimo/Springer Spaniel mix that we rescued named Mouse and a Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix named Mia.

Q: Tell us about the pets that you live with now?

A: I have two Pomeranians, Knox and Nike. I could not think of a breed I’d rather own. Honorable mention to my sister’s two Australian Shepherds who are always around!

Q: Favorite color

A:  Green or Gray.

Q; If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

A: I would want to be able to control time. I think it would be nice to be able to go back and enjoy my favorite memories, pause time to take a nap, or skip forward through tedious tasks.

Q: What weird collections do you have?

A:   I love blankets, and I have to stop myself from buying a new one every time I go to Target. And I go to Target more often than I’d like to admit.

Q; What ice cream are you?

A:  Caramel Collision, but only from The Candy Shoppe in Bayfield and it has to be eaten on the dock.
