| I've
always had dogs - a terrier when I was growing up, a lab-border collie
mix as a young adult, a greyhound, and for the past decade I've had
several Rhodesian Ridgebacks. My 9 year old ridgeback is the first
dog I ever trained for competition. We had such fun training and competing!
He earned 7 titles by the time he was 4 years old.
Although I'm
now a CPA, in the past I was a teacher. I guess it's my love of
both teaching and dogs that lead me to teach dog classes. Over the
years, I've taught a variety of dog classes, including puppy, family
dog training, and tracking. Everything is taught with positive reinforcement
and using as many "games" as possible so that it's fun
for the dog.
Every dog benefits
from training. Whether you want to compete with your dog or not,
training strengthens the bond you have with your dog and gives both
of you a fun activity to share. And in the end you'll have a better-behaved
dog that's easier to live with!
