We
have a 24 hour cancel policy. Please understand that we have dogs
waiting to come and play. If you do not cancel 24 hours ahead of
time, we will bill you for a full day. We will be closed on all
major holidays unless otherwise noted.
Little Pookers is sad when
she sees all of the other dogs going home and her parents are not
there yet to pick her up! Please pick up your dog no later than
6:00pm, or 9:00pm on Fridays. We charge a $1.00 per minute fee after
closing.
Enrollment Process
We accept healthy dogs of all ages - Even Puppies as young as 8
weeks!! If your dog is over 6 months of age, they must be spayed
or neutered. All dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies and Bordatella
vaccinations. We will also accept titers. We require at least a
one-day-per-week commitment to keep your dogs social skill's up,
and so he can see his doggie friends on a regular basis! Dogs do
best at daycare when they come on regular days during the week.
Just like children they make friends at daycare, and when they hang
out with their regular group of friends each week (ex
We don't do a quick 5 minute
behavior assessment, we consider your dogs entire first day their
"gradual enrollment day". This is when we determine if
your dog is a good canidate for doggie daycare, and if he has fun
being there! Because we are very cautious and only allow extremely
friendly and appropriate dogs, our program may not be right for
every dog; The Dog Den reserves the right to make this determination.
Owners must sign a rules and regulations form, client agreement,
and be prepared for a very tired dog when they come back to pick
him up!
We encourage appropriate play,
ask the dogs to wait at the door, sit for petting, etc. We also
separate dogs into appropriate playgroups. First by size (small
dogs vs. large dogs) and then also by play type (gentle vs. physical).
Here is a checklist
for your dogs' first day of daycare:
1. Please drop off your dog no later than 7:00am for his first scheduled
day.
3. Bring copies of your dog's vaccination records for our files
- including bordatella and a clear fecal within the past 6 months.
4. Allow yourself an extra 30 minutes during this first drop off
day for paperwork and any questions..
5. We don't do a quick 5 or 10 minute temperament test. We consider
your dog's whole first day his "gradual enrollment" day. We will
observe his behavior with the pack and make sure that he is not
only a good fit for daycare, but that he enjoys himself! We observe
him not only when he first gets there, but throughout the day, with
different dogs, and at the end of the day when he might be tired...
If we notice any problems we will contact you immediately.
6. Feel free to bring a lunch or snack for your dog. Please bring
in a plastic, airtight container (Tupperware type container) with
his name written on it. They burn a lot of energy and are sometimes
hungry by naptime!
Thank you again for considering our daycare - we can't wait to
meet your dog!
