A: Knowing Dogs 201, Pet First Aid

Q: What are your pronouns?

A: She/Her

Q: What is your preferred name?

A: Kelly

Q: When did you start?

A: July 2021

Q: What is your position/title?

A: Playgroup Leader, Assistant Trainer, Administrative & Client Relations Coordinator

Q: What made you apply for this job?

A: I got my very first dog, Ollie, in 2019 and we started daycare and Training Classes at Puppy Den when she was 9 weeks old.  I completely fell in love with "all things dog" and decided I needed even more of that in my life.  I LOVED Dog Den as a customer and now get to love it as an employee.

Q: What is your favorite part of daycare?

A: Getting to spend time with so many different dog breeds, ages, personalities, etc.  I'll never have time to personally own ALL the dogs so I'm grateful that I get to spend my work days with everyone else's wonderful pups

Q: What is your favorite part of training?

A: I particularly like when a dog learns a new skill and desperately wants to show you what they learned.  Those moments when they start to offer the new behavior unprompted and often; because they are just so proud of what they have learned

Q: Favorite thing about your team?

A: Getting to interact and learn from an awesome group of people that really care about dogs.  When I was very new I overheard a coworker on our headsets randomly say "I just...love dogs...you know?" and then there was a chorus of "Me too!".   That made me smile!  When I was a  client, I had the impression of the Puppy/Dog Den as being a group of kind, caring people who want to do the best they can for the dogs in their care.  I love that that is the exact same impression I'm getting as an employee

Q: Favorite thing about the clients?

A: When a client is clearly smitten with their dog.  Dogs are so loving and it's wonderful to see when they are adored right back.  I love the reunion at check out at the end of the day when Dog and Human are both just SO EXCITED to see one another after being apart all day.

Q: Favorite thing about the dogs?

A: So many things.  How smart they are, how much they love to learn.   I LOVE the goofy ones

Q: Something unique about you – not related to the dogs

A: Hiking, kayaking, biking, camping.   I love all things outdoors

Q: Something you’d never guess I’d do/peg me for
