With over 16 years of experience, Deb Crawley brings wisdom, empathy, and unmatched expertise to her multifaceted role at The Dog Den. As East Location Coordinator and a trusted behavior consultant, Deb has made it her mission to help both dogs and their people thrive—no matter the challenge.
Her training philosophy is rooted in positive reinforcement, trust-building, and relationship development. As a Family Dog Mediator, Deb focuses on helping dogs and their families learn to understand each other’s needs so they can coexist in harmony. Whether she's working with fearful, reactive, or aggressive dogs—or coaching staff and clients through the ups and downs of training—Deb brings a calming presence and a wealth of science-based strategies to every interaction.
Deb’s favorite part of her work is creating those powerful bonds between people and their dogs—watching families grow closer through improved communication and confidence. She’s exceptionally skilled in mentoring team members, guiding new trainers, and helping reactive or misunderstood dogs find their footing.
She shares her home with two delightful companions: Lola, a sassy, spirited Husky who lives up to the breed's reputation, and Gabriel, a goofy, human-like Weimaraner who keeps life light and joyful.
Deb’s passion for dog behavior started with Sassy, her beloved Berner/Rottie mix who came to The Dog Den with reactivity struggles—and left a legacy of transformation. With Sassy as her guide, Deb fell in love with the science of behavior and dedicated her life to helping others walk a similar path. Sassy lived to the age of 13, had dog friends of her own, and remains an inspiration to all who knew her.
Before becoming a dog behavior expert, Deb’s life was just as bold—she grew up in the mountains of Virginia and served in the Navy as a diesel mechanic. That grit, determination, and heart still shine through in her work every day.
At The Dog Den, Deb can be found leading playgroups, coordinating training programs, coaching staff, guiding enrichment sessions, and delivering one-on-one consults that change lives.
When asked what she wants clients to know, her answer is simple and true:
“I love all your dogs.”
