Fit Dog Program

Canine Fitness & Conditioning at The Dog Den

Helping Dogs Move Better, Feel Better, and Live Better

Your dog was built to move.

To run, balance, climb, explore, and play with confidence.

But modern life doesn’t always give dogs the opportunity—or the structure—to move in ways that truly support their body.

That’s where we come in.

At The Dog Den, our Fit Dog Program is designed to help your dog feel better in their body, move with ease, and stay active and capable through every stage of life.

Through personalized, guided exercises, we build strength, balance, coordination, and confidence—using positive, low-impact training that meets your dog exactly where they are.

WHY CANINE FITNESS?

Just like people, dogs benefit from intentional, functional movement.

Whether your dog is a playful puppy, an active adventure partner, or a beloved senior, fitness training supports how their body is meant to move—so they can keep doing what they love, longer.

Through the Fit Dog Program, your dog can:

  • Build strength to support joints and everyday movement

  • Improve balance and stability (goodbye slipping and sliding!)

  • Increase flexibility and range of motion

  • Develop body awareness and coordination

  • Boost confidence through positive, rewarding experiences

  • Reduce risk of injury

  • Stay mentally engaged and fulfilled

This isn’t just exercise—it’s purposeful movement with lasting impact.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE

The Fit Dog Program is designed to support overall wellness and is not a substitute for veterinary care.

We do not treat or diagnose injuries or medical conditions. Dogs must be cleared by a veterinarian prior to participation, and we do not work with dogs currently experiencing pain, injury, or post-surgical recovery without full clearance.

  • WHAT MAKES THE FIT DOG PROGRAM DIFFERENT

At The Dog Den, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programs.

Every dog starts with a comprehensive evaluation, where we assess:

    Posture and structure

How your dog sits, stands, and lies down

    Movement at different speeds

    Balance, coordination, and weight shifting

From there, we create a custom fitness plan tailored to your dog’s body, needs, and goals.

    Our approach is:

    ✔ Positive and reward-based
    ✔ Low-impact and safety-focused
✔ Progressed at your dog’s pace
✔ Built around confidence, not pressure

We don’t just work on your dog—we work with them.

And we teach you how to support their progress at home, too.

  • WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Each session is calm, structured, and engaging.

We use specialized equipment like balance discs, platforms, and stable and unstable surfaces to safely challenge your dog’s strength and coordination.

    You’ll see:

    Guided, intentional movements

Gradual progression based on your dog’s comfort

    Clear communication and coaching

    Encouragement, success, and fun

No force. No stress. Just thoughtful movement that builds confidence.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Every dog begins with an initial evaluation.

From there, we’ll recommend the best path forward based on your dog’s needs and your goals.

This may include:

  • One-on-one training sessions

  • Structured Foundations programs

  • Ongoing fitness through memberships

Before participating, dogs must have veterinary clearance to ensure fitness training is safe and appropriate.

Knowledgeable. Thoughtful. Here for Every Dog.

Our Fit Dog Program is led by trainers who are deeply committed to helping dogs feel better in their bodies—and more confident in their lives.

This program is guided by certified education, hands-on experience, and a shared belief that every dog deserves thoughtful, individualized care.

Our Why ❤️

We see dogs every day who don’t quite fit into traditional environments.

Dogs who feel overwhelmed in group classes.
Dogs who struggle in busy, crowded spaces.
Dogs who become anxious when other dogs are too close or constantly visible.
Dogs who need more time, more space, and a more thoughtful approach.

And we also see the people who love them—trying to find the right fit, often feeling unsure where their dog belongs.

This program was created for those dogs.

Because every dog deserves the opportunity to feel successful, safe, and confident in their body—no matter their personality, history, or comfort level.

At the same time, we see many dogs who:

  • Lack body awareness or coordination

  • Are at risk for injury

  • Could benefit from more intentional, structured movement

  • Need an outlet that supports both their body and their mind

And we know how much better life can be when those things improve.

The Fit Dog Program is designed to meet dogs where they are—whether they’re:

  • Building confidence

  • Gaining strength

  • Staying active as they age

  • Or simply needing a different kind of experience than traditional settings provide

This program exists to help dogs:

✨ Feel stronger
✨ Move more comfortably
✨ Build confidence through success
✨ Stay active and capable longer
✨ Live fuller, happier lives

Because when a dog feels safe, capable, and supported in their body—everything else gets better too.
