🐾 Katie 🐾
Playgroup Leader
Pet First Aid Certified | Customer Service Certified
Katie has been part of The Dog Den team for a year and a half, but her connection to dogs goes back much further—she’s been dog sitting and training since she was 16. Known for her enthusiasm and ability to make new dogs feel at home, Katie has a special knack for introducing pups into playgroups and helping them settle in with confidence.
Her training philosophy is rooted in positive reinforcement and a deep respect for dog behavior. Katie loves watching how dogs interact, learning their social cues, and seeing their unique personalities shine. Meeting new dogs is one of her favorite parts of the job, and she thrives on creating a safe, fun space for every pup she works with.
Katie has shared her life with a Siberian Husky, Cocker Spaniel, and Great Pyrenees mix, each one adding to her understanding of different breeds and temperaments. Her family jokingly calls her the dog whisperer—no matter where she goes, dogs seem to gravitate toward her.
Her path to The Dog Den came from a love of dogs and a curiosity about greetings and behavior. That curiosity continues to fuel her work today, whether she’s on the daycare floor as a Playgroup Leader, observing group play, or ensuring each dog gets a positive and enriching experience.
Outside of work, Katie serves her community as a volunteer firefighter in Cottage Grove—a role that speaks to her dedication, courage, and commitment to helping others.
For Katie, this is more than just a job. As she puts it:
“I wanted a job I love—and what’s better than getting dog kisses and snuggles every day?”
